Cosmetic Surgery – Facelifts, Body Contouring, Tummy Tucks – Up in 2010

U.S. News and World Report published an article yesterday stating that in 2010 cosmetic surgery procedures performed in the U.S. were up 5% from 2009. Five percent may sound like a small increase, until you read that there were over 13.1 million procedures done: 1.6 million were cosmetic surgical procedures while 11.6 million were minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures such as the popular anti-wrinkle treatments of Botox, Dsyport and dermal fillers.

Facelifts jumped by 9% last year, for a total of 113,000 facelift procedures performed. Santa Barbara cosmetic surgeon Dr. Terry Perkins specializes in aesthetic facial rejuvenation, offering patients an option to look their best, in a natural way.

The article also states that body contouring – through surgery and liposuction – also increased, partially due to patients who have lost a large amount of weight through bariatric surgeries. Dr. Perkins also performs Santa Barbara liposuction and body contouring for arms, legs, abdomen, and breasts. Body contouring removes excess fat (and sometimes skin) to give the body improved contours.

With the Spring season right around the corner, now is a great time to get your body in it’s optimal state. Dr. Perkins performs cosmetic surgery in Santa Barbara at his practice – Cosmetic Surgery Center – located near to Cottage Hospital.
